A good mate of mine thinks some crappy little search engine is able to value his site accurately and has asked if I want to buy it. In response to your question roneel, no I have no intrest in buying your site. Besides the site is obviously rigged:

The site is rigged

Apple HiPod

I realise that this is just an idea… but what a cool idea it is :-)

Maybe one day this is all we will need to email, phone & listen to music.

Funny iPhone add…

I saw this over at I Started Something, it just got me laughing.

I have been using a HP iPaq h6365 for the past two years. One of the first Windows Mobile 2003 devices to have WiFi, Bluetooth, Quad-band GSM, GPRS, Camera, with a large touch screen & i had a 1GB SDCard for my music. It even supports GPS navigation with a bluetooth module.

With the release of the new iPhone doing all these great new features just makes me shake my head. I’ve been very happy using Media Player to listen to my music (All DRM free) for years on the train & bus. ActiveSync to get my mailbox from Exchange. There is now talk that Microsoft are going to release a Zune phone….

anyway, check out the add over at Long’s Blog, it’s simiar to the new MAC vs PC ads and is quite a chuckle.

Building Community Hurts – Part III

Autor brendon | 08.03.2007 | Category Personal, Rant

A mate of mine runs the Brisbane Infrastructure Group (BIG) by calling in personal favours from friends in the industry and does so all on his own time. He recently blogged ‘Building Community Hurts – Part 2‘ about how hard building a community is, and how little you seem to get in return for your effort. Of course this was in response to a similar post by one of his mates ‘Building Community Hurts‘.

Dugie, just let me say. I do very much appreciate all the great work you do. One day you will need to teach me to freeze time too because there is no other way you could possibly do all the things you do. :-)

Adam, I had similar experiences a few years ago running my own LAN parties, both private and public. Turnout was often disappointing but I still look back and think what a wonderful time I had, fragging with all those people. I hope you to enjoyed your time. I don’t yet know how hard it is to arrange and run a user-group but I know in the future I will find out.

I suppose my point if I have one, I appreciate what you guys do for us Geeks. It’s something I didn’t have while in Fiji and am grateful to be able to attend over here. To all those other people out there in computer land, always remember to grok your system admin AND thank your user group organiser.
