ISA doesn’t support Kerberose Auth

Autor brendon | 31.08.2009 | Category TechStuff

For web proxy request, ISA only supports Basic or NTLM authentication. Some knowledgebase articles with more information are KB322822 and KB239869.

IE7 now supports Kerberos authentication to web servers however under certain circumstances it has been known to forward credentials to ISA 2004/ 2006 using Kerberos instead of NTLM. The symptoms are that when accessing sites through the proxy, it will repeatedly prompt you for domain username and password.

As a work around, to override this behaviour Under Tools -> Internet Options -> Advanced, towards the bottom of the page, disable the tick box for ‘Enable Integrated Authentication’ and restart IE.

Convert any digital camera with SD to WiFi…

Autor brendon | 31.08.2009 | Category 35mm

I stumbled across PhotoJojo a few months back as a laid-back digital camera enthusiast web site. Reasonably regular posts, 2-3 per week with little neat things about camera’s, photoshop and other bits and pieces. They published a very good article on a neat little innovation that allows you to add WiFi capabilities to ”almost” any digital camera.

With the use of an Eye-Fi card, a normal looking 2GB SD Card all photos (not movies) on the device can be uploaded over a standard 802.11b network to a computer running the Eye-Fi Manager or directly to your photograph web site. (Flikr, Photo Bucket, Gallery, Live Spaces, etc.)

While the devices are not available in Australia, some eBay stores are willing to ship the device internationally. It works great in my wife’s camera. When she comes home, she simply turns the camera on and all the photo’s are wirelessly uploaded to our server at home.

Windows IAS for Telstra WAN

Autor brendon | 31.08.2009 | Category Comms, TechStuff

I posted previously on information Telstra needs to configure in order for their RADIUS servers to proxy authentication attempts to a Windows IAS Server. I have been asked for the necessary configuration on the IAS server to work with Telstra.

Telstra likes to provide a 10MB document outlining how RADIUS works but not how to configure it. Here is a working example of IAS configuration for the Telstra RADIUS servers.
