Windows home server – Public Beta

By brendon on February 15th, 2007

Microsoft is releasing a new server product aimed at the home market where a household has two or more PC’s. The product is called Windows Home server and runs on a modified version of Windows 2003 Server R2. The product uses a web console for management and monitoring of all other PC’s that connect to it. It uses a client to push out username and password sync, monitors Windows updates, one care, manage the file shares and drive configuration.

Microsoft has released the product as a public beta currently and is taking applications for people to test the program. I will write more in the coming weeks on the features but for now the important links are below.
