Safer Internet Day
Autor brendon
Well I’m a day late, BUT the idea is what counts.
With the increasing use of the Internet in our daily lives, so many of our real every day problems are moving virtual. People are needing to learn new ways of protecting them selves and their families from wrong doings. Safer Internet Day looks at helping people (especially children) to learn ways to enjoy this resource safely.
Head over to SID2007 or SaferInternet.org to find out more information. The following is an extract from SaferInternet.org
Using the internet and other new technologies means we can make and keep contact with people from all over the world to an unprecedented extent. So, this year’s blogathon, taking place on Safer Internet Day (6 February 2007), focuses on the topic “Crossing Borders”. What do we get out of virtually going beyond our national boundaries? Living and learning internationally via the internet brings a lot more excitement, friendship and knowledge into our lives. It leads us to reflect on our preconceived ideas and opens our minds to a whole new world of possibilities, broadening our horizons and building bridges between people and cultures in a way that was never before possible. It means that we need to carefully navigate the fine line between our own rights, freedom, privacy and the rights of others. The Safer Internet Day blogathon brings together children, teachers and organisations from across the world to share their views.
